My interest in waterfowling history stems from my childhood growing up hunting in the Mississippi Delta with my dad and brother. My mom also nurtured my love for museums and art. Antique decoys and wildlife art are the perfect combination for an art history loving waterfowler.
Background: For the past 10 years, Katie has served as Curator of the Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center inside the Bass Pro Shops Pyramid.
Other Involvements: Katie is an avid runner and spends her free time running ultramarathons. She also coaches her kid’s cross country and track teams.
The Collector: Katie is not an avid collector but enjoys being the steward of many visiting private collections at the museum. In this way, she gets to collect a little bit of everything.
Favorite Decoy: This is a very unfair question. The form of John Blair, Sr.’s hollow bodied decoys has always stood out to me. I also love the folksy look of the Adam Ansardi teal.
